The Anglican Shrine in Lockdown

The Anglican Shrine in Lockdown

This selection of photographs of the Shrine this last year are reflecting the sad state of affairs of the lockdown. Many of the pictures are taken from outside the walls and as I observed the evenings and the mornings and the breaking of spring from without perhaps there is a feeling of how it was, glorious sunshine, wonderful blossom, the leaves coming and the doors closed with never a person in sight.

Occasionally I was able to go into the garden and experience the solitude and the strangeness and the beauty of the garden, to listen to the birds singing and the bees buzzing, sounds that are not usually heard so clearly amidst the bustle of life in the Shrine.
